The Premier League Leading Scorers: Top 10 Players With the Most Goals

The English Premier League 2022/23 season has already entered its business end, and the race for the top four spots is heating up. With that, the race for the Golden Boot, the ultimate prize for the top scorer at the end of the season, has also gained precedence. We have seen some breathtaking goals throughout this campaign from many players, but only those who are in the race to win the Golden Boot have done it more consistently. Here, we shall look at the ten top goal scorers in the Premier League 2022/23 edition.

Top 10 Scorers

Rodrigo (Leeds United)

The Spanish forward has been in excellent scoring form in this campaign. He has delivered many match-winning performances for Leeds United this season. Rodrigo has gone on to score 11 goals and made an assist on top of that. He has shown excellent positional awareness, and his strong physique has also helped him come out on top against defenders in the final third. He has been one of the best Premier League players this year.

Aleksandr Mitrovic (Fulham)

His breathtaking scoring form towards the first half of the season is one of the main reasons that has propelled Fulham to such a good position in the table. Mitrovic has been a tough player to contain for defenders as he overpowers his opponents with his strengths, and a good eye for goal helps him finish clinically as well. The Serbian forward has also scored 11 goals and made one assist so far, but he has done it in fewer games than Rodrigo; that’s why he sits a position higher in the top Premier League goal scorers list.

Miguel Almiron (Newcastle United)

He has taken his game a level higher this season. Among the new Premier League faces who have entered the top goal-scorers list this year, Almiron has unleashed his inner beast as he has gone on to score 11 goals, his best-ever tally in the league’s history. Almiron scored in four consecutive games against Everton, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Southampton midway into the season. However, his best came when he scored a brace in Newcastle’s 4-1 win over Fulham. He sits in eighth place on the top scorers’ list.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Salah’s performance and consistency for the club have yet to match his usual standards; however, he has still managed to net 11 goals and made seven assists to establish himself among the best players in Premier League. The Egyptian forward’s best performance came against Manchester United, though. Two goals and two assists helped Liverpool register a massive 7-0 win over the Red Devils.

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

The young winger has delivered a sensational performance for Arsenal this season, and the Premier League title looks pretty close if he continues performing like this. The English international has netted 12 goals and has also supplied ten assists. He sits in sixth position in the list of top goal scorers this season, and his best performance came in Arsenal’s recent 4-1 win over Crystal Palace, where he scored a brace and made an assist.

Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal)

The Premier League has witnessed some of the best young players over the years, and Brazilian wunderkind is one of them. Saka’s Gunners teammate is in fifth position in the list of top goal scorers in this Premier League edition, with 13 goals and a couple of assists to his name. The Brazilian has delivered some breathtaking performances this season, but his best by far was his brace in Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Everton in game week 25. The youngster has formed an excellent quartet with Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Jesus in the Gunners’ offense, and he will be looking to carry his perfect form forward.

Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)

The England international has regained his lost touch this season, and he has been in good form ever since Erik ten Hag took charge at Old Trafford. Rashford has been a totally different player since then, and he has accumulated 14 goals and three assists. Watching how he has played throughout this season has been exciting, but his two goals and an assist in Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Arsenal have been his best outing by far.

Ivan Toney (Brentford)

The English forward has impressed everyone with his scoring prowess this season. Glimpses of his ability were already visible last year when he scored 12 goals and five assists for his team. Still, he has taken his game a notch higher this time as he has gone on to score 16 goals and made four assists already, with ten more games remaining in the season. Toney also has a hat-trick to his name, and it came in Brentford’s 5-2 win over Leeds United earlier in the season.

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

The England international is in the race to win the Golden Boot again, and there’s no surprise there. After all, in the Premier League, Kane has been one of the top players and most prolific scorers and has multiple Golden Boot awards to his name as well. The Spurs forward has netted 21 goals and made two assists so far this season, and he sits in second position among the top scorers in this Premier League edition. However, Kane’s best performance came against Crystal Palace in game week 19, when he scored a brace and supplied an assist.

Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

The Norwegian goalscorer is the favourite to win the Golden Boot this season among the top 10 Premier League players. Haaland has netted 28 goals already, seven more than Kane, and has supplied five assists on top of that. The Manchester City forward has been a real menace for defenders throughout this campaign as he has gone on to score goals at his own sweet will. He has dominated in almost all aspects, whether with his skills, physical strength, finishing or aerial ability.

Haaland scored four hat-tricks in this tournament, a record among the Premier League’s top scorers. The hat tricks came against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester United, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest, but the one in the Manchester derby, where he also made a couple of assists on top of his hat-trick, has been by far his best performance. There’s a good chance that Haaland may go on to set a new football record surpassing the Premier League all time goal scorers.

Odds to Win Golden Boot

  • Erling Haaland is to win the Golden Boot at odds of 1/25.
  • Harry Kane to finish as the Golden Boot winner at odds of 10/1
  • Marcus Rashford to claim the Golden Boot at odds of 80/1
