However, there will need to be response from Atalanta coming into this fixture, as they were despondent in that game. Before the defeat against Napoli, Atalanta had won all three games in Serie A, as they scored 13 goals. That attacking threat was missing against Napoli, but it will likely be back on show this weekend against Sampdoria.
Meanwhile, Sampdoria have improved after a slow start to the season, as they have won their previous two in Serie A. They started the season with two straight defeats, but their previous two games being wins would mean that they will come into this fixture with newfound confidence.
The wins that they have achieved over recent weeks have come against Fiorentina and Lazio. The latter of those wins was their most recent outing, as they ran out 3-0 winners. Sampdoria’s goals in that win were scored by Fabio Quagilarella, Tommaso Augello and Mikkel Damsgaard. However, backing those two wins up with a third could be a challenging prospect for Sampdoria.
