However, Luka Sučić had to leave the pitch injured, and the club confirmed this weekend that the Croatian star is expected to be out for at least four weeks. This is a blow for the team considering his offensive contribution often led him to bail the team out with splendid goals from far. 

Real Sociedad have been paired with Manchester United for the Round of 16 in the Europa League, with the first leg in Spain scheduled for March 6th. The return leg will take place on March 13th at Old Trafford.

The victory did not stop Madrid fans from yelling “corruption” in the fight between the club and the referees, as the club continues to believe changes need to be made. Javier Tebas reacted by calling the club “a bunch of crybabies”. 

Real Madrid eliminated Manchester City in the Champions League play-off, defeating the Citizens both in Manchester and in Madrid. 

The second tie, which took place at the Bernabéu, saw a dominant Madrid while Manchester City struggled to defend against Mbappé who scored a hat-trick.

Madrid have been paired with their derby rivals Atlético de Madrid for the Champions League Round of 16, with the first leg scheduled on March 4th at the Bernabéu. The second leg will take place at the Metropolitano on March 12th.

Dani Carvajal and Éder Militao remain sidelined due to injury.
