Ancelotti opted for Endrick instead of Mbappé to start the game. Although the Brazilian hasn’t featured in a hot minute, he opened the scoring for Madrid. Known for daring to shoot from any spot, it turned out to be the solution against a hesitant Real Sociedad. 

Still, the team’s performance concerned the home crowd, who whistled in frustration as Madrid conceded multiple counterattacks. It took extended play and several defensive mistakes from Real Sociedad for the hosts to make it 4-4. Antonio Rüdiger scored in the 115th minute.

The only major change in personnel has been the demotion of Pepelu as a single pivot. Javi Guerra and Enzo Barrenechea alternate in the midfield as a double pivot. 

The Argentinian declared that ‘Mestalla feels like Argentinian stadiums’, due to the intense atmosphere.

José Gayà, Dimitri Foulquier, and Luis Rioja are suspended, while Ivan Jaime, Mouctar Diakhaby, and Thierry Correia are out with injuries.
