Bayern Munich vs SV Werder Bremen Preview and Team News
Bayern Munich Team News
Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich will be looking to move nine points clear at the top of the standings this weekend. The German side have won each of their last five matches in the Bundesliga, and they are currently the highest scorers in the Bundesliga.
Bayern have been outperforming their xG throughout the season, scoring 46 goals from an xG of 44.79. Meanwhile, they have also been sound defensively, conceding just 15 goals from an open play xGA of 10.51.
Bayern have been very active in the transfer market this winter. The club has loaned 19-year-old forward Mathys Tel to Tottenham Hotspur. Tottenham holds an option to make the transfer permanent for approximately €55 million (£45.7 million). Initially, Tel declined the move but was later persuaded after a personal call from Spurs’ manager Ange Postecoglou.

In response to Tel’s departure, Bayern recalled Gabriel Vidović from his loan at Mainz 05. Vidović had limited playing time at Mainz due to injuries and returns to Munich earlier than planned to strengthen the squad’s attacking options. Additionally, Bayern has loaned young talent Noël Aseko Nkili to Hannover 96 for 18 months, aiming to provide him with regular first-team experience.

Kompany will be without first-choice left-back Alphonso Davies on Friday, as the Canadian picked up a hamstring issue last weekend. Traditional substitutes Gabriel Vidovic and Hiroki Ito are also sidelined.
Bayern Munich predicted lineup vs Werder Bremen: (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Laimer, Upamecano, Dier, Guerreiro; Kimmich, Pavlovich; Olise, Musiala, Coman; Kane.
SV Werder Bremen Team News
The visitors will be the huge outsiders when making a Bayern Munich vs SV Werder Bremen prediction this weekend. Werder Bremen bounced back to form last weekend with a fine 1-0 win over Mainz, ending a four-game winless run. A second straight win could see them end the round in the Champions League spots.
The German side have been productive in front of goal this season, scoring 28 goals from an open play xG of 25.82. However, they are underperforming in terms of an xGA of 27.87, allowing 33 goals from open play this season.
The visitors will be without Marco Friedl and Niklas Stark due to suspension this weekend. But, Jens Stage is able to return after serving his ban. Julian Malatini, Oliver Burke, and Keke Topp aren’t expected to return to action until next weekend.
SV Werder Bremen predicted lineup vs Bayern Munich: (3-5-2): Zetterer; Jung, Pieper, Veljkovic; Weiser, Lynen, Bittencourt, Schmid, Kabore; Ducksch, Njinmah.

Kompany’s Bayern have been at their brilliant best in front of their own fans this season. They look to be the solid selection on Friday, and their chances are enhanced based on their dominant head-to-head record against Werder Bremen after winning five of their last six against their opponents.
Bayern have scored at least four goals in three of the last five matches between these sides. That trend looks set to continue at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern Munich vs SV Werder Bremen Prediction, Betting Tip
- Pick: Over 3,5 Goals
- Odds: 1.56 (22Bet)
Over 3.5 goals looks to hold a solid chance this weekend. Bayern Munich have scored an average of 3.4 goals per game at the Allianz Arena this season from an xG average of 2.47. Werder have also been weak defensively on the road this season, keeping clean sheets in just 20% of their matches and conceding an average of 1.9 goals per game.
