Monaco will be looking to move clear at the top of Group B on Thursday evening, as they travel to Real Sociedad. Many will expect Monaco to top this Europa League group after an impressive end to the season in Ligue 1 last term. They played out a very entertaining draw in the Netherlands against PSV, with the match eventually ending in a 2-2 draw. Sociedad had taken the lead in that game after goals from Adnan Januzaj and Alexander Isak, but a second half strike from Cody Gakpo ensured that a point was all that they were going to get from their trip to the Netherlands. However, like Monaco, Sociedad have also won their last two league fixtures, and have scored four times in games against Granada and Elche.

Monaco and Sociedad will meet for the very first time in a European competition on Thursday. Sociedad have won twice in four meetings against French sides, while Monaco have been beaten on eight of the eleven games that they have played away from home against clubs from La Liga.
