It has been a slow burning season for RB Leipzig, but there has been enough evidence over recent weeks to suggest that they look well positioned to battle for a place in the Champions League throughout the second half of the campaign. However, they could move up to fourth with a victory on the road on Friday evening.
Maintaining the form that they have shown throughout the season will be the biggest test for Köln. They would have been pleased to get back to winning ways last weekend after failing to win in two. Köln managed to get a 1-0 win over Freiburg last time out, with Anthony Modeste scoring the all-important winner in the first half.

FC Köln have a reasonable record in this fixture, as they are unbeaten in three against Leipzig. However, their only win during that run came at home last season, as they claimed a 2-1 success. Köln’s last win away at Leipzig came in February 2018. Since then, they have lost once in two visits.
