Biography
Ronaldo Claudio Maarman (born 20 November 1999) is a South African professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the South African club Chippa United.
He started his professional career with Chippa United Reserves before joining Chippa United in August 2019. Although he joined the club, his professional debut came much later, during the 2020/21 season, when he transferred to Cape Town All Stars.
He has scored 9 goals in his entire career. He’s yet to make his international debut with South Africa. His current market value sits around €450,000
Club career
Chippa United (2019-2021)
Maarman started his football journey with Chippa United. The club picked him up from Chippa United Reserves for €25k. He didn’t play a single match during his time with the club for one season.
Cape Town All Stars (2021-2022)
On 28 September 2020, the Cape Town All Stars would loan Maarman from Chippa United. It was in this club that he would make his professional debut. He made 40 appearances with the All-Stars during the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons. On 8 January 2021, he started the match for the All-Stars by scoring a goal at the 32-minute mark against Polokwane City.
In the same season, on 26 January, he scored an equalizer against the Cape Town Spurs during the penalties, making the score 3-3. During the 2021/22 season, he tied the score to 1-1 against Moroka Swallows by scoring at minute 88.
Chippa United (2022-Present)
At the end of the 2021/22 season, Maarman was again transferred back to Chippa United. The 2022/23 season saw him making 23 appearances with 3 goals scored in these matches. He also set up the ball for his teammates with 12 lineups, creating an opportunity for scoring.
With the new season just beginning, he has so far made 4 appearances. He’s yet to make his debut goal this season.
