Biography
Mohd Azrif Nasrulhaq bin Badrul Hisham (born 27 May 1991) is a professional footballer who plays for Malaysia Super League Club Sti pahang. He plays in the defender position but has also played as a right-wing on various occasions.
He was born in Kota Damansara in Petaling Jaya and started his career with the PKNS youth club in 2010 when he was 18 years old. His outstanding performance led to him winning a bronze medal in the Sukma games as a part of Selangor.
During 2013 and 2014, he played for Harimau Muda A until he exceeded the age limit. Upon leaving Harimau, he joined Selangor on 1 December 2014. He currently has a market value of €100,000.
Club career
PKNS (2010-2012)
While playing with the PKNS youth club, Nasrulhaq scored 10 goals in 33 appearances. He scored his debut goal on 28 February 2011 against Armed Forces in the 88th minute. This goal secured the victory for PKNS.
His next goal came on 18 April 2011 against DRB-Hicom. This was an overwhelming win for PKNS, where they had a score of 7-0. Nasrulhaq made a contribution to this scoreline by getting a goal in the 48th minute.
Another one-sided victory came on 29 April 2011 in the match against SDM Kepala Batas. In the 6-0 victory, Nasrulhaq scored the fourth goal at 58 minutes.
He would then go on to score several other goals during May 2011. On 2 May, he scored one goal against USM staff. Shortly after this, on 7 May, he scored the first goal against Armed Forces at minute 30.
The match against PDRM on 16th May was the first and only time Nasrulhaq scored twice in a single match. His goals came in at minutes 77 and 82. Both of these goals allowed PKNS to win this match.
This unstoppable performance continued even on the 20th, where he scored yet another goal to wrap up the match. This came at 73 minutes against Johor Darul Ta’zim II.
He scored two more goals while playing under the PKNS youth club’s banner. The first one came on 1 July 2011 when he was playing against Harimau Muda B. At 59 minutes, the first goal came from Nasrulhaq’s shot.
His final goal happened on 14 July 2012. He opened the scoreboard against Terengganu II as soon as the match started. His first-minute goal was one of the contributing factors to the victory of PKNS that day.
After seeing his electrifying performance with the PKNS, he got an offer from Harimau Muda A, where he joined on 1 January 2014.
Harimau Muda A (2013-2014)
Although Harimau was excited about Nasrulhaq’s transfer, he would have a disappointing performance at this club.
He appeared in only 5 matches and wasn’t able to score a single goal while playing for the club. As he was exceeding the age limit to remain at the club, he joined Selangor FC.
Selangor FC (2015-2016)
Once he joined Selangor FC, Nasrulhaq played in more matches, with 33 appearances throughout the season.
But his disappointing run ended with the club having scored only a single goal throughout the entire season. This took place on 1 March 2016 against Sarawak FA.
Johor Darul Ta’zim (2016-2022)
On 29 June 2016, Johor Darul Ta’zim finally officially announced their intention to sign Azrif from Selangor after a month of speculation.
On 15 July 2016, Azrif signed a contract with Johor Darul Ta’zim after the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) and the Johor Football Association (JFA) agreed on the transfer.
He had 50 appearances with the club. But just like his brief stint with Selangor FC, he was only able to score one goal while playing for Johor Darul Ta’zim.
The goal came against Kuala Kampur City on 8 February 2019 at 59 minutes.
National career
Nasrulhaq played internationally for the Malaysia U23 squad in 2014. He made his debut with the Malaysian National team on 17 November 2015 against UAE. He has yet to score a single goal representing the National team.
