The 2-1 win against Madrid, thanks to a strike from Hugo Duro in additional time, is not the only result the team achieved against big sides in La Liga. Valencia drew with Villarreal in the Derbi de la Comunitat (1-1) and defeated Mallorca 1-0. 

With two strikers ( Sadiq and Duro) at his disposal, the margin for rotations is wider than ever before.

Although García Pimienta has not been fired, a report by Relevo claimed that he may be sacked if the head coach fails to defeat Valencia on Friday. Pimienta defended his team in front of the media, claiming that they “are more than alive”. 

The club reacted to the protests through their official social media channels, calling the behaviour “unacceptable” of fans who tried to threaten Del Nido Jr. 

Tanguy Nianzou and Rúben Vargas will be absent with an injury, and Juanlu Sánchez is awaiting a medical green light.
