Spain vs Andorra Team Overview

Spain

Spain completed the 2022 World Cup surprisingly, crashing out at the Round of 16 stage after a shock penalty shootout defeat to Morocco. After that disappointment, Luis de la Fuente took over the reins of La Furia Roja.

His tenure got off to a rocky start in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. In the beginning, Spain played a lacklustre match against Norway but still managed to grind out a 3-0 victory. However, that game was followed by a 2-0 defeat against Scotland. Nevertheless, they still did enough to book their place at Euro 2024.

In March, Spain played two friendlies. They suffered a 0-1 defeat against Colombia before being held to a six-goal thriller, drawing 3-3 against Brazil. However, their upcoming opponents are much weaker.

Andorra

What can be said about Andorra? They remain one of the most fragile sides in Europe. They play inert and idle football, mostly sitting back in the defence while focusing on not conceding too many goals. However, it does not help to secure positive results.

The qualifying tournament for Euro 2024 can be considered “usual” for Andorra. They managed to grab only two points, drawing against Kosovo (1-1) and Belarus (0-0). In the eight remaining matches, they lost with a total score of 2:19 and took last place in Group I. In March, they held two friendlies, where they drew against South Africa (1-1) but succumbed to Bolivia (0-1).

Spain vs Andorra Prediction

  • Pick: Spain to Win (-4.5) Handicap
  • Odds: 2.19 (22bet)

Spain are undoubtedly one of the frontrunners to clinch the trophy at Euro 2024. However, they are in a very difficult group alongside Italy, Croatia and Albania. For this reason, the hosts should be in good shape by the first matches of the tournament, and some insights may already be visible in the match against Andorra.

Although it is unlikely that Luis de la Fuente’s men will display 100% of their capabilities, even at less than full tilt, they should have more than enough firepower to dismantle one of the weakest sides in Europe. Moreover, with places in the starting XI up for grabs, many players will be eager to prove themselves. Hence, a bet on Spain’s victory with a handicap (-4.5) seems a reasonable option.

Spain vs Andorra Prediction, Betting Tip

  • Pick: First Half Total Over 2.5
  • Odds:  2.71

Spain always strives to have a productive start to the match, allowing them to gain a solid advantage. Cast your mind back to their Euro 2024 qualifier against Georgia, when the Spaniards scored four unanswered goals in the first half en route to a 7-1 demolition job.

More recently, in March’s friendly against Brazil, Luis de la Fuente’s team also scored two goals in half an hour before eventually being pegged back to a 3-3 draw. So now, the optimal option for forecasting seems to be a total of more than 2.5 goals in the first half, with a one-way onslaught from the hosts the likeliest scenario.
