Betis vs Real Valladolid Preview and Team News

Betis Team News

Betis defeated Girona 3-1 last weekend, after being 3-0 up by half-time. Johnny opened the scoring as early as the 6th minute, while Antony and Isco also scored in the last minutes before half-time.

The victory marked the 117th win under Manuel Pellegrini, who calmly stated: “The statistics reflect our good work. We want to reach the Conference League Final, but we also must qualify through our La Liga position.”

Betis are sixth in La Liga with 51 points, only one behind 5th-placed Villarreal. We don’t know which European competition the team will compete in next season, as it all depends on Athletic Club.

The Basques are among the favourites to win the Europa League, in which case Betis could qualify as 6th for the Champions League.

Betis drew 1-1 with Jagiellonia in the CL. This means the team advances to the next round, having won 2-0 in the first leg at home. They’ve been paired with Fiorentina for the semi-finals in early May.

Diego Llorente, Ezequiel Ávila, Marc Roca, and Ricardo Rodríguez will be sidelined with injuries.

Betis Predicted Line-up vs Real Valladolid

Betis Predicted line-up vs Real Valladolid (4-2-3-1): Adrián; Perraud, Natan, Bartra, Ruíbal; Fornals, Johnny; Ezzalzouli, Isco, Antony; C. Hernández.

Real Valladolid Team News

Real Valladolid may soon see a slight change in their schedule. On Monday, Barcelona requested that La Liga bring their encounter against Valladolid forward by a few hours.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd, in Valladolid, at 21:00 local time. However, Barcelona asked that the game be played at 14:00,16:00, or 18:30.

The reason concerns the preparation time for the Champions League, as Barça would face Inter Milan on May 6th. Although Valladolid are yet to comment, it’s expected that the request will be granted.

The visitors remain last in La Liga with 16 points in 32 matches, having only registered four wins. They fought hard but lost to Osasuna in a 3-2 thriller after being 2-0 down by half-time.

Youngster Raúl Moro pulled one back in the 49th minute, before Ante Budimir converted a penalty. Sylla buried the penalty for Valladolid seven minutes later, but it wasn’t enough to secure a draw.

Valladolid’s last victory was back in January when they defeated Betis 1-0 thanks to a goal from Kike Pérez in the second half.

Karl Hein is out due to injury, while Luis Pérez will be absent for personal reasons. Kenedy is doubtful as he caught a viral infection.

Betis vs Real Valladolid Prediction

  • Prediction: Betis to win
  • Odds: 1.15 (22Bet)
  • Score Prediction: Betis 3-0 Real Valladolid

Although Valladolid’s last victory came against Betis in early January, history is unlikely to repeat itself. The guests have not won a game in three months and are almost certain of returning to the Segunda next season. Injuries have only made their season more challenging.

For Betis, this match represents one of the easiest opportunities to fight for 5th place against Villarreal. It could serve as a confidence boost or potential rotations.

Betis vs Real Valladolid Betting Tip

  • Pick: Antony to score
  • Odds: 2.5 (22Bet)

Valladolid’s defending is far from the league’s best, which means that Antony is likely to have a free path ahead of him. The Brazilian scored against Girona last weekend. This week’s game could possibly be a chance for him to relax and upgrade his goalscoring record.

The visitors are slow and have the worst defensive record, which makes for a free training session.
