If Dortmund’s season is far from great, St Pauli’s season is typical for a newly promoted club to the Bundesliga. They have only tasted victory once, against Freiburg (3-0). They drew against Leipzig in a goalless draw and lost four games. As a result, Pauli is currently 15th and could slide into the relegation zone after the weekend.

Sahin noted that his team will “try to play actively”, which could suggest a more attack-oriented Dortmund: “As a player, I loved playing in the evening, and I get the feeling it’s the same for the lads”.
