West Ham’s excellent run of form was halted in their previous domestic fixture, but they will have a golden opportunity to get back on track this weekend. Wolves will be the visitors to the London Stadium, as they bid to extend their unbeaten run.
Premier League Preview
It was a damaging weekend in the Premier League for West Ham last time out, as the Hammers fell to a humbling loss at Fulham. However, this weekend presents a good opportunity for the side to get back on track. The Hammers had been in fine form before the defeat last weekend, picking up three wins from four matches before the trip to Craven Cottage.
But, David Moyes will be hopeful that his side will be harder to break down after conceding five at Fulham last weekend. The Hammers were extremely weak defensively in that fixture, as they conceded three in the opening 45, before allowing a further two in the second period. It was the 238th time that Moyes had lost in the Premier League, tying the record in the competition.
Wolves will likely be happy enough with their performances in the first half of the season, as they have easily moved clear of the relegation places to open up a ten-point advantage. They come into this weekend after avoiding defeat in their last two, but they will be looking for a second win in three after playing out a draw in their previous match.
Their recent dropped points came at Molineux against Nottingham Forest. Matheus Cunha continued his excellent form in front of goal by netting the equaliser in that fixture, but Wolves didn’t do enough in the second period to record maximum points in front of their home fans.
West Ham vs Wolves Head to Head
Wolves have won two of their previous four against West Ham, but both of their victories have been recorded in home matches. They haven’t recorded a victory away from home against the Hammers since June 2020. West Ham have recorded three straight home victories against Wolves in the league.
West Ham vs Wolves Prediction
This looks to be one of the trickiest games to call in the Premier League this weekend. However, we will be siding with the hosts to continue their fine record in this fixture after winning each of their last three against Wolves at the London Stadium.
