Slavia Prague vs Rangers Prediction: Europa League Match on 11.03.2021

Alex Dudley Alex Dudley

Slavia Prague produced one of the shocks of the Europa League this season in the previous round, and they will come up against the newly crowned champions of Scotland on Thursday.

Europa League Preview

Rangers haven’t been short of parties over the past couple of days, but they will need to put their business heads back on this week as they look to make it to the last eight of the Europa League. Gers have been excellent all season, and some are even talking that they could be potential dark horses to win the Europa League this season. It isn’t hard to see why, as they haven’t lost a game in this competition or the SPL so far this season, and were excellent getting past Royal Antwerp in the previous round. The Scottish side won by an aggregate score of 9-2 after the two legs. The damage was done in the first of those legs, as they ran out 4-3 winners away from home. It was a more controlled performance in the second leg, as they claimed a 5-2 success. Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Cedric Itten were among the scorers in the big win.

Slavia Prague had gone under the radar throughout the Europa League before the last round. However, everybody will be aware of them now, as they knocked out Premier League side Leicester City. After a 0-0 draw in the home tie, many expected the Foxes to pick up a routine win in the second leg back at the King Power Stadium. However, it didn’t play out that way, as Prague picked up a famous 2-0 win to give them a first ever win against an English side. This will be another huge challenge for them in Europe, but based on that performance they will be confidence of knocking out another illustrious side.

Slavia Prague vs Rangers Team News

Gers will head into this away game with a few injury concerns. Steven Gerrard will be without Kemar Roofe, Ryan Jack and James Tavernier. Meanwhile, Nikola Katic is out until the end of the season. Mick van Buren could return for Prague, but David Hovorka will miss out.

Slavia Prague vs Rangers Prediction

Rangers will face a different challenge in the first leg of this game, but will be confident of taking a positive result back to Ibrox. We could see this game ending in a score draw.
