The game of the Europa Conference League quarterfinals so far came in the first leg between Slavia Prague and Feyenoord. The sides shared six goals in the first meeting last week, and neutrals will be hoping for more of the same this Thursday.
Europa Conference League Preview
Slavia Prague and Feyenoord meet for the fourth time in the Europa Conference League this week. The sides played twice previously in the group stages, with Feyenoord claiming a 2-1 home success, before playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture. Goals have been prominent throughout the meetings between the sides this season, and that was evident once again in the first leg last week.
On that occasion, the sides played out a very dramatic 3-3 draw. Feyenoord took an early lead after ten minutes through Luis Sinisterra, before Slavia Prague hit back with goals either side of half time to go 2-1 ahead. However, goals from Marcos Senesi and Orkun Kokcu seemed to have given the Dutch side a dramatic lead to defend in the return leg.
But, Prague weren’t about to be happy with a narrow defeat, as they dramatically equalised in the game in the fifth minute of injury time. Ibrahim Benjamin Traore’s goal could yet be a very important moment in the tie.
Slavia continued to impress in front of goal in their latest league fixture, as they hammered FK Pardubice 4-0 to remain top of the Czech First League. Lukas Provod scored a brace in the win. Meanwhile, Feyenoord also enjoyed a big win in their latest fixture, as they came back from 1-0 down against Hercales to win 4-1 on the road. Reiss Nelson and Guus Til were among the scorers for the Dutch side.
Slavia Prague vs Feyenoord Head to Head
These two sides have become very familiar with one another over the course of the season. However, Feyenoord are unbeaten in three against Slavia. Two of the three games have ended in draws. An average of 4.33 goals per game have been scored in the previous three fixtures.
Slavia Prague vs Feyenoord Prediction
If the previous games between these sides are anything to go by, then this should be another entertaining fixture. However, I struggle to see past the away side making it through to the semi-finals, and could see them picking up a 2-1 win on the road.
