Both nations will be looking for a response after negative results in their previous match. [banner][/banner]

World Cup Qualifier Preview

Huge action in the South American World Cup qualification campaign takes place in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday evening, as Brazil look to get back on track after going three internationals without a victory. The nation are currently in a challenging position at this stage, as they have won just twice in five qualifying matches.  That poor form to start the campaign already sees them sit five points off Argentina at the top of the standings, and they could drop out of the top seven places if they suffer another defeat this week. Brazil have lost each of their previous two internationals, and they will be hopeful that reports of Carlo Ancelotti’s potential arrival could spark a response on Tuesday night. Their most recent defeat was suffered away from home, as they were beaten 2-1 by Colombia. [news_button][/news_button]  Argentina will be looking to rub salt into the Brazilian wounds this week, as they chase a fifth win in six qualifying matches to extend their advantage at the top of the standings. They will also be looking for a response in Brazil, as they were beaten for the first time since winning the World Cup by Uruguay over the weekend.  However, such is the strong start that they have made to qualifying that they still boast a two-point advantage at the top of the standings. Things didn’t go to plan in that defeat against Uruguay, but Lautaro Martinez could be recalled for the match away from home against Brazil this week.

Brazil vs Argentina Head to Head

Brazil have gone three matches without a victory against Argentina, which includes defeats in two of those clashes. The only exception was a 0-0 draw in the most recent qualifier between the nations in 2021.

Brazil vs Argentina Prediction

More embarrassment could be heading Brazil’s way on Tuesday evening, as they look to avoid losing three successive World Cup qualifiers. However, they lack an identity at present, and Argentina look extremely good value to bounce back in Rio following their shock defeat over the weekend at the hands of Uruguay. Seychelles will host Kenya on Monday at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny for a World Cup qualifying clash in Group F, with kickoff slated for 19:00 GMT.

Key Highlights

Playing at home, Seychelles will look to dominate the match against Kenya, dictate the tempo, and create chances.

Seychelles have lost their last three matches by a combined 9-2 scoreline. They lost to Comoros 0-3, against Malawi 2-0, and were beaten by Zambia in the COSAFA Cup matchday three 2-4.

They will look to bounce back against Kenya on Monday.

The clash against Seychelles will be Kenya’s second consecutive away clash as they look for their first win and/or points in Group F after they narrowly lost in their opener away to Gabon.

Kenya took the lead in the 40th minute in Gabon via a Masoud Juma strike. They controlled the match until Denis Bouanga gave the hosts a way back into the match in the 60th minute.

Kenya failed to wrestle control of the match back from Gabon, with the hosts grabbing the decisive goal in the 88th minute via a Guelor Kanga strike. The hope for Kenya is that they will learn lessons from their opening-day defeat heading into the clash with Seychelles.

Injury Report

Neither side has reported fresh injury issues ahead of the clash on Monday.

Prediction

Kenya will win away from home, get their first win in Group F, and get their World Cup qualifying campaign off the ground.
