They were beaten 3-0 by PSG in Paris before losing 1-0 at home against Bordeaux on Friday. Confidence is low in the camp, but the team know there’s still hope with three games still to be played.

Chelsea top of the pile

Chelsea sit in pole position after three games with seven points from a possible nine. They drew their opening match but wasted no time getting their campaign back on track, winning each of their two outings since. The Blues are level with Sevilla on seven points and two wins ahead of the chasing pack. Victory here would secure their passage to the next stage.

Frank Lampard’s men have been in great form on Premier League duty also, hammering Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge before securing the points at St James Park on Saturday. Chelsea beat Newcastle 2-0 that day, the goals coming from Abraham and a Fernandez OG.

All the pressure is on the home team and that could make a difference here. This is a must-win for Rennes, but their recent form is poor. Chelsea will want to get the win in France to secure a top-two finish to allow them to concentrate on the Premier League.
