Luton Town return to Premier League action following the international break on Saturday, as they look to end a two-game losing run when they visit the City Ground. Nottingham Forest will also be looking to end their four-game winless run.
Premier League Preview
An interesting fixture on the Premier League schedule this weekend will see Nottingham Forest and Luton collide at the City Ground. Both sides are in desperate need of maximum points after enduring winless runs, with Forest chasing a first victory in four matches. Despite that, Steve Cooper’s side sit 13th in the standings, and they could move into the top half of the table on Saturday.
Wins have been hard to come by for Forest over the opening weeks of the campaign, as they have landed just two wins from their opening eight matches. They come into this fixture after going two without a defeat in the Premier League, but both of their most recent matches have ended in draws. The latest of those was an uneventful 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace before the international break.
Luton currently sit outside the relegation places at this stage of the season, but they desperately need to pick up a run of victories to enhance their survival prospects. The Hatters have won just once in eight matches this term, but a victory on Saturday could see them join Everton and Brentford on seven points.
Meanwhile, a third straight defeat could see them end the round in the bottom three places in the league standings. Luton were unlucky in their most recent matches before the international break, as they were ultimately handed a 1-0 defeat at home against Tottenham.
Nottingham Forest vs Luton Head to Head
Luton are unbeaten in their last four matches against Forest, with all clashes over that period coming in the Championship between 2020 and 2022. The latest of those saw the Hatters land a 1-0 success in April 2022. Forest’s most recent win against Luton was a 3-1 success in January 2020.
Nottingham Forest vs Luton Prediction
There will be pressure on both of these sides to get back to winning ways this weekend. However, the preference is for the home side. Forest have been short on goals in recent weeks, but we expect them to land a 2-0 home win to move into the top half of the standings this weekend.
