They could move to the top of the standings for the first time this term on Friday, but they will need to claim maximum points against the unbeaten Nice. [banner][/banner]

Ligue 1 Preview

Luis Enrique made a slow start to life at PSG over the opening two matchdays, as PSG failed to secure maximum points in each of their opening two. However, they have responded excellently since then, as they have won consecutive matches in the French top-flight. This weekend, they could move to the top of the standings for the first time this term.  The Parisians have scored seven goals across their last two matches, with four of those coming in their demolition of Lyon before the international break. PSG were at their best in that fixture, with Kylian Mbappe scoring twice in the win. Marco Asensio was also on the scoresheet in that victory, in which PSG registered 22 shots overall. However, they will likely face a more resilient challenge this weekend. [news_button][/news_button]  Nice have made a reliable start to the new season, as they have gone four without defeat. However, they had opened their season with a run of three straight draws. But, that run came to an end before the international break, as they landed maximum points for the first time this term with a victory over Strasbourg.  The deadlock was broken on the stroke of half time by Youcef Atal, before the points were secured with just 15 minutes remaining, as Terem Moffi doubled the advantage. Nice were good value for maximum points on that day, as they dictated the play from start to finish. However, they are unlikely to enjoy as more of the possession this week against PSG.

PSG vs Nice Head to Head

PSG have won each of their last two fixtures against Nice, which includes a 2-0 win on the road in the most recent. However, Nice has avoided defeat in two of the last four, which includes a 0-0 draw in this exact fixture in December 2021. However, they haven’t won in Paris since 2009.

PSG vs Nice Prediction

Nice have been extremely difficult to beat across their opening four matches this term, and they could be confident of picking up a point against PSG this weekend. We could see that being an outside chance, with PSG already preparing for their Champions League opener against Borussia Dortmund next week. Make sure to bet on PSG vs Nice with 22Bet! It hasn’t been an easy start to the season for PSG, as Luis Enrique comes to grips with the task at hand. The same can also be said of Laurent Blanc at Lyon, who will desperately need a win soon as they currently sit in the bottom three places of the Ligue 1 standings.

Ligue 1 Preview

Both Lyon and PSG come into this fixture on Sunday with a point to prove, as neither have started the season in the form that many would have expected. However, the Parisians finally looked to click into gear last weekend, as they ended a two-game drawing run by picking up maximum points at home against Lens.

It was a solid display by PSG, as they appeared to be in cruise control throughout the second half after Marco Asensio’s opener on the stroke of half time. Kylian Mbappe also looked sharp in Paris, as he scored the second early in the second half, before adding the third in the 90th minute. His second goal saw him exceed 300 goal involvements for PSG, netting 215 times and registering 86 assists.

It has been a grim start to the season for Laurent Blanc and his Lyon side, as they remain locked in the bottom three positions of the standings. One positive will certainly come from the fact that they were able to end a two-game losing sequence last Sunday, as they played out a goalless draw against Nice.

However, Lyon never looked likely to find the back of the net in that fixture, as they mustered just a single shot on target from their 41% of the possession. The result saw Lyon make some unwanted history, as they are in the bottom three for the first time after three matches for the first time since 1971-72. Meanwhile, they have taken their lowest tally of points at this stage of the season since 1992-93.

Lyon vs PSG Head to Head

Lyon landed a famous win over PSG in the previous encounter between the sides. However, that win was their first in four matches against the Parisians. They are winless in their last four home matches against PSG, which includes a 1-0 defeat in this exact fixture last term.

Lyon vs PSG Prediction

It has been a really disappointing start to the season for Lyon, and things aren’t likely to get any easier this weekend. We expect the Parisians to register maximum points on the road, and we could see them winning by at least a two-goal margin.
