It is Der Klassiker weekend in the Bundesliga as Borussia Dortmund go one-on-one against Bayern Munich at the Signal Iduna Park on Saturday, with kickoff slated for 17:30 GMT.
Key Highlights
Dortmund’s Unbeaten Form
Last year’s Bundesliga runners-up have made a decent start to their bid to win the title this season.
Dortmund are unbeaten in their opening nine matches; they have won six times and drawn twice. They have collected 21 points out of the available 27. They sit fourth on the table, four points behind leaders Leverkusen and two points behind their opponents on Saturday, Bayern Munich.
Last time out, Dortmund dropped points in their 3-3 draw away to Eintracht Frankfurt. They will hope to regain their form and performance levels when they host Bayern Munich on Saturday.
Bayern Munich’s Resurgence in Bundesliga
Thomas Tuchel’s men have won the last three consecutive matches in the Bundesliga. They have won four and drawn once in their last five. They have dropped just four points in their unbeaten opening to the nine rounds of Bundesliga fixtures played so far.
In Europe, Bayern have been brilliant in Group A, winning their opening three matches and leading the group with maximum points.
However, the Allianz Arena side were shocked in a mid-week clash in the DFB-Pokal when they were dumped out of the cup by minnows Saarbrucken 2-1.
Thomas Tuchel will hope that the side that shows up at Signal Iduna Park displays the cutting-edge ruthlessness that has characterized Bayern Munich in their Bundesliga performance so far.

Borussia Dortmund
Dortmund will be without defensive midfielder Emre Chan for the clash with Bayern. The midfield enforcer suffered a bruise on October 25 in his side’s away win at Newcastle. The 29-year-old has not featured in three matches and is a doubt about the clash with Bayern.
Right winger Julien Duranville is also unavailable for the home clash against Bayern. The 17-year-old has been nursing a muscle injury since September 24th. The forward has been sidelined for seven matches now, and no return date has been provided.
