Legendary forward of KHL’s Ak Bars Danis Zaripov transferred 200,000 RUB (approx. $2,800 USD) to an Angela Vavilova Foundation children’s hospice.
The hockey player took part in the All-Star Match of the KHL and, together with the team, won the skills competition. As a result, the team received a charity certificate with a face value of 100 thousand rubles from the main sponsor of the event.
It is reported that the sponsor doubled the face value of the certificate, and 200 thousand rubles were transferred to the foundation.
“I have great respect for this charity initiative. I am glad that I managed to help the hospice from the city of our club, as well as many other foundations and hospitals that are in a particularly vulnerable situation in a pandemic. It is very important that representatives of the business community, athletes and ordinary people help each other. Nowadays, this is the most important thing,” Zaripov said.
The Angela Vavilova Foundation provides comprehensive assistance to children from Tatarstan who were diagnosed with cancer.
