The final round of qualifiers in the South American region takes place this weekend. Two sides that are already aware of their finish in the standings meet, as Brazil look to extend their unbeaten run in qualification to 17 games.
World Cup Qualifier Preview
Brazil were among the first sides to assure their passage through to the World Cup finals later in the year. Their place at the top of the CONMEBOL qualifying standings is already assured, as they are four clear of Argentina coming into this final fixture.
Brazil has been strong throughout the qualification campaign, as they have won 13 of the 16 games that they have played. Both Brazil and Argentina have played a game fewer than the remainder of the sides at this stage, as their fixture was called off by health officials last year.
Brazil have won each of their previous two games 4-0, which includes their big victory last week against Chile. Bolivia are already out of contention to finish in a qualification spot in the standings. The best finish that they can achieve is eighth, as they are a single point behind Paraguay. However, they can no longer finish bottom of the standings, as they have picked up 15 points from the 17 games that they have played, five more than Venezuela.
Confidence within the camp may be low, as Bolivia were recently hammered 3-0 by Colombia in their penultimate World Cup qualifier last week. They failed to register a single shot on target in that defeat, and will need to offer much more against Brazil this week.

Bolivia has recorded just five wins from 31 previous fixtures against Brazil. The latest meeting between the sides came in October 2020, as Brazil ran out 5-0 winners. The Brazilians have scored eight goals in their last two fixtures against Bolivia.
