Viking and Bayern Munich drew 3-3 at Lyse Arena in the Champions League league phase on Tuesday 13 October 2026, according to ESPN. Viking twice led before Bayern recovered, only for the Norwegian side to equalise in the 90th minute against ten men.

Haugen's 90th-Minute Equaliser Rescues a Point

Viking made a dream start when Gianni Stensness opened the scoring in the second minute of the match, converting Zlatko Tripić's corner delivery. The hosts kept Bayern Munich at bay for most of the half and doubled their advantage in the 38th minute, when Peter Christiansen finished off a move set up by Erik Botheim.

Bayern responded after the restart. Harry Kane pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 54th minute. The penalty came after a VAR check, according to Bavarian Football Works. Kane didn't stop there. Six minutes later he headed in a Joshua Kimmich cross to draw the sides level, scoring in his ninth straight Champions League appearance.

Bayern almost went ahead immediately, but Luis Díaz had a goal ruled out for offside. He made no mistake in the 71st minute, getting on the end of Konrad Laimer's pass to put Bayern 3-2 ahead. The momentum swung again two minutes later, though, when Michael Olise was sent off for a second yellow card. Viking pushed against the ten men, and in the 90th minute Herman Haugen levelled it, with Tripić providing his second assist of the night.

Kompany's Changes and Olise's Second Yellow Card Decided the Match

Trailing 2-0 at half-time against one of the competition's outsiders, Vincent Kompany had to react immediately and made three changes. He brought on Ismael Saibari for Lennart Karl, Alphonso Davies for Nathaniel Brown and Dayot Upamecano for Jonathan Tah.

After Olise was booked for pulling Henrik Heggheim's shirt in the 73rd minute, he threw the ball at Tripić seconds later and was sent off. That allowed the home team to put Bayern's defence under sustained pressure, which resulted in the late equaliser.

After Tuesday's matches, Bayern Munich are fourth on four points from two matches (1W 1D), two behind leaders Barcelona. Viking are 26th on one point from two (1D 1L), two places outside the knockout play-off positions.
