How Como Ran Riot

Douvikas scored a hat-trick and also set up Paz's goal, while Paz was directly involved in three goals, scoring once and creating two.

Como led 3-0 at half-time and then scored five goals in 22 minutes after the restart, between the 47th and 69th minutes, with Lens replying once in between.

Como arrived with five straight wins in all competitions, including a 4-1 home win over Manchester United in their previous Champions League match. Lens had won two and lost three of their last five matches, including league-phase defeats by 2-0 at home to Sporting CP and 3-0 away at Club Brugge.

After the result, Como are fourth in the 36-team table on nine points, while Lens are 33rd on three.

Lens coach Yannick Cahuzac said humiliation was the only word that came to mind and that his side were dominated in every aspect. Como captain Lucas da Cunha called it an incredible night but warned that the team could not get ahead of themselves.

Records Broken

Reuters reported that Como are the first team to score nine away from home in the European Cup, the Champions League's former name, since 1971, and only the second side after Bayern Munich to reach nine goals in a Champions League game.

Lens suffered the heaviest Champions League defeat by a French club. Como's 19 goals in their first four Champions League games also match the record Queens Park Rangers set in 1976 over a club's first four games in major European competition.
