With the World Cup over, the transfer window is now in full swing. Some major business has been completed over the past few days, including the biggest deal of the summer to date. Here are the 10 most expensive signings so far.

1. Morgan Rogers → Chelsea (€138m)

In a new British-record transfer, Morgan Rogers has given up European football at Aston Villa to join Xabi Alonso’s project at Chelsea. The 23-year-old is capable of operating as an attacking midfielder or on either flank.

Rogers registered 10 goals and six assists in last season’s Premier League. He’s also fresh from some meaningful contributions for England at the World Cup, where he started at the semi-final stage against Argentina.

2. Elliot Anderson → Manchester City (€135m)

Another Three Lions star on the move is Elliot Anderson. The midfielder’s transfer from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City was announced earlier this month.

Anderson is a ball-playing midfielder who averaged 1.4 key passes per game from a deep role in the 2025/26 Premier League. He has also established himself as a first-choice pick for his national team and is capable of stepping up on the Champions League stage for his new club.

3. Sandro Tonali → Tottenham (€108m)

Having failed to invest as heavily as some Premier League clubs in recent years, Tottenham have gone big this summer. They’ve backed their new boss Roberto De Zerbi with the signing of fellow Italian Sandro Tonali from Newcastle.

The midfielder’s vision and versatility should help revive a Spurs side that battled relegation last term. Tonali’s defensive qualities are also clear, with the 26-year-old averaging 1.5 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per match in the most recent edition of the Champions League.

4. Mateus Fernandes → Tottenham (€99m)

Tonali’s midfield partner is set to be Mateus Fernandes, who has made the switch across London from relegated West Ham.

The Portuguese star was one of the few bright lights for the Hammers in the 2025/26 campaign. He made 2.9 tackles per game in the English top flight, while impressing with his ability to progress the ball from deep.

5. Anthony Gordon → Barcelona (€80m)

Barcelona moved early to sign Anthony Gordon this summer. The winger will head to the Catalan capital following a holiday after the World Cup, where he scored once and assisted three times in six outings for England.

Gordon’s 10-goal return for Newcastle in last season’s Champions League would also have caught Barça’s eye. He’ll effectively replace compatriot Marcus Rashford in the squad, with the new arrival’s higher energy levels set to make him a better fit for Hansi Flick’s style of play.

6. Gonçalo Ramos → AC Milan (€74m)

With fierce competition for places at PSG, Gonçalo Ramos has moved to Serie A. He’s expected to be a regular starter up front for AC Milan.

Not a single player reached 10 league goals for I Rossoneri last term. Ramos, who has scored 11 times in 27 outings for Portugal, will offer a physical presence and a greater threat in the penalty area.

7. Jérémy Jacquet → Liverpool (€63.6m)

Liverpool have been more cautious in this transfer window, following a record-breaking spend in the summer of 2025. Their biggest purchase so far has seen Jérémy Jacquet move to Merseyside from Rennes.

The 21-year-old centre-back won 1.9 aerial challenges and made 4.8 clearances per match on average in Ligue 1 last season. He could be the long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool.

8. Jan Paul van Hecke → Tottenham (€60m)

Another defender on the move is Jan Paul van Hecke. The Dutchman has left Brighton to join Tottenham, where he’ll again work with his former Seagulls boss De Zerbi.

The 26-year-old is viewed as a replacement for Cristian Romero, who has been widely linked with a move away from the North London club.

9. Johan Manzambi → Aston Villa (€60m)

One of the breakout stars at the World Cup, Johan Manzambi registered three goals and two assists in just four appearances for quarter-finalists Switzerland.

His ball-carrying skills and ability to shoot from range suggest he’ll take on Rogers’ role at Aston Villa. The 20-year-old appeared against his new club as recently as May for Freiburg in the final of the Europa League.

10. Marco Palestra → Chelsea (€57m)

Capable of operating at right-back or right-wing-back, Marco Palestra looks set for a major role for Alonso’s Chelsea. He has left Atalanta, having impressed on loan at Cagliari last season.

The 21-year-old averaged 1.9 dribbles per game for the Sardinian club, who finished 14th in Serie A.
