As expected, the top three teams in the Ligi Kuu Bara are leading the standings. Young Africans and Simba have 100% efficiency with six wins out of six matches. Young Africans have the edge as they also have the best attack in the league with 16 goals scored, an average of 2.7 per contest.

Through the first six matchweeks, Clatous Chama, Aubrey Chirwa, and Abdul Suleiman are tied at the top of the goalscoring charts with four goals each. The 2026/27 Ligi Kuu Bara season will be a three-team race between the league's top clubs: Young Africans, Simba, and Azam.
Young Africans lead the table with 18 points after six matches, scoring a league-high 16 goals while conceding just two. Their best player so far has been DR Congo star Maxi Mpia Nzengeli, who has three goals and one assist in six starts so far this season.

The biggest overperformer so far in the Ligi Kuu Bara 2026/27 is Polisi Tanzania. Despite being promoted to the top division ahead of the season, they enter the international break in fifth place with 10 points (W3, D1, L2).
As for the biggest underperformer, it has to be Fountain Gate. They finished 12th in the 2025/26 Ligi Kuu Bara but are 14th in 2026/27, winning just one of six matches (W1, D1, L4) and scoring a league-low two goals.
The best match of the 2026/27 Ligi Kuu Bara so far has been Geita Gold's 6-2 victory over Kagera Sugar on 22 August, headlined by Aubrey Chirwa's brace.
Ligi Kuu Bara Relegation Battle — Who Is in Danger?
Fountain Gate, Kagera Sugar and Pamba are the three most complicated teams when it comes to relegation. Fountain Gate have slumped badly, with just one win in six matches (D1, L4) and a league-low two goals.
