Sampdoria would have breathed a sigh of relief last weekend, as their wait for a first victory of the Serie A season came to an end. That victory means that they were able to rise up to 18th in the standings, and are now within two points of the safety places in the league standings.

Sampdoria were made to work incredibly hard for their first league win of the season, as they broke the deadlock with just over ten minutes remaining, despite having less of the possession.
