Strasbourg continued their superb domestic run in Ligue 1, beating St. Etienne 3-1 at home. Thanks to the victory, they have extended their unbeaten streak to 11 matches and are close to entering the top four zone, with only a point separating them.
The hosts currently occupy seventh place. Unlike their opponents, the motivation will be at its peak for Strasbourg, who have shown excellent football recently and are close to the European qualification zone.
Luckily for the home side, there are no major fitness concerns. Moise Sahi Dion has been out following an Achilles tendon injury but he has not featured for almost a year for the club.
Strasbourg predicted lineup vs Paris Saint-Germain (3-4-2-1): Petrovic; Doukoure, Omobamidele, Doue; Bakwa, Santos, Barco, Moreira; Lemarechal, Nanasi; Emegha.
Having already claimed the Ligue 1 title, the only motivation for PSG was to finish the season without a loss in the domestic championship. However, in the last round, they were beaten 1-3 at home against Nice, with Marcin Bulka delivering one of the best goalkeeping displays of the season.
In the Champions League, however, Luis Enrique’s men took a massive step on their way to the final, as they convincingly defeated Arsenal at the Emirates (0-1). The job is not done, but they have more opportunities to rotate their squad.
There are no injury concerns for PSG. Ousmane Dembele is questionable, but of course, the Spanish coach won’t risk him and I expect him to rest key players.
Paris Saint-Germain predicted lineup vs Strasbourg (4-2-3-1): Safonov; Hernandez, Beraldo, Kimpembe, Mendes; Mayulu, Vitinha, Zaire-Emery; Barcola, Ramos, Kvaratskhelia.
Bet herePSG generally have a huge advantage in H2H matches and Strasbourg have not won against them since 2017. However, the situation is different now. PSG are guaranteed title-holders and at the same time they have a crucial second leg ahead.
Strasbourg, on the other hand, are aiming to enter the top four, and who knows – perhaps they can clinch a Champions League spot. They will surely take advantage of this opportunity, and at home, they can at least grab a point.
We expect the hosts to have a slight advantage. Of course, PSG cannot be written off, but given their upcoming match against Arsenal, we suggest picking Strasbourg or a draw in this encounter.
PSG is undoubtedly one of the most attacking teams in Europe. Under Luis Enrique, they are lethal on counterattacks, but at the same time, they concede frequently in the domestic championship.
Strasbourg are also a joy to watch, as the club creates a lot of chances against every opponent. In this clash, where they need to be more precise when converting opportunities, we expect a high-scoring affair.
PSG will be without pressure, and this will surely give Strasbourg chances. However, we don’t expect them to keep a clean sheet, and an exciting meeting is anticipated. Hence, our second pick for this game would be over 2.5 goals.
