Both Union Berlin and Leipzig will certainly be disappointed with the performances that they have put in over recent weeks. Both will be aiming to finish in the European spots once again this season, with Leipzig aiming for a Champions League position.

Union’s form has also dipped, but they still remain in sixth place by the narrowest of margins. They have one only once in their last five games, and they weren’t able to get back-to-back wins in their most recent fixture.

Still, they remain two points outside of the top four places in the Bundesliga, and are currently level on points with seventh placed Wolfsburg. Union were beaten by Eintracht Frankfurt away from home in their last fixture, as the hosts claimed a 2-1 victory. However, Union were unfortunate to lose that game, as Frankfurt fired home the winner in the fifth minute of injury time at the end of the game.
