Los Blancos are back on the track again after their victory in El Classico last weekend. They certainly can not lose points anymore as Barcelona are still entailing them with only one point gap and will snatch the top leader position whenever possible. This weekend they will be meeting Real Betis, which is sloping down approaching relegation zone. It is a decisive clash for Zidane’s men in two-horse race for La Liga title.
Real Betis seemed to carry on their negative trends last weekend. They slumped to another defeat while visiting Valencia. The host took the double lead in the second half by Kevin Garniero’s and Dani Parejo’s strike. Rubi’s men could only score a consolation goal by Loren Moron.
Meanwhile, El Real finally managed to win in El Classico at their home turf after losing consecutively in the previous four matches. Sergio Ramos and Co thumped their arch-rival 2-0 by Vinicius Jr and Mariano.
Rubi has opted for 4-1-4-1 formation with the transition to 4-2-3-1 this season. He often relies on a lone striker, either Loren Moron or Borja Iglesias, supported by two attacking wingers, Nabil Fekir and Joaquin Sanchez.
Zinedine Zidane is one of the modern football managers who tend to be less strict in terms of formation. He is quite adaptable in various formations depending on their opponent. However, this former French star is often in favor of 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 formation with the transition to 4-3-2-1 lately due to the injury of Hazard, Bale and Marco Asencio.
In Real Betis squad, their new signings this season, Nabil Fekir is one of their current top performers. He has netted seven goals and provided two assists. The other notable ones are the two defenders; the former Barcelona and Dortmund center-back Marc Batra and the Brazilian Emerson.
The current Real Madrid’s top performers this season are surprisingly not from the frontman apart from Karim Benzema who is still the team’s top scorer. They are the defensive midfielder Casemiro with his three goals and two assists, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. Another notable one is the young Uruguayan Federico Valverde.
Real Madrid should be able to win quite easily over the host if they could keep their excellent form in El Classico. Joaquin and Co has been winless in their last seven games. Their confidence is low unless Rubi could come up with a proper tactics to frustrate Zinedine Zidane’s men.
According to the punters, the visitor is the clear favorite. They are backed to win at 1.77, whereas the draw result is at 3.90. Sergio Canales and Co are only projected to win at 4.35.
