Lazio will be hoping to end a successful season for them with a huge victory on the final day of the season against the Coppa Italia champions. But, will they be able to get the three points?
Lazio have enjoyed an excellent season in Serie A this term, as they have secured their passage back into the Champions League. They could have achieved a lot more this season had it not been for the break in play, as that brought a halt to their tremendous run of form, where they had only lost twice all season. Going into the restart, Lazio had gone 21 Serie A games without defeat. However, they were beaten in their first game back, and they then went on to lose for of their next seven games. Lazio have returned to form over the last couple of weeks, as they have now won three victories on the bounce.
They will be hopeful of ending the season in second place this season, and a victory over Napoli could be enough to achieve that. Lazio come into this fixture having beaten Brescia 2-0 in their last fixture. Joaquin Correa and Ciro Immobile scored in that win. Immobile looks certain to win the golden boot now as his tally of 35 is four higher that Cristiano Ronaldo.
Napoli are destined to finish seventh this season, but they are still going to be playing in the Europa League next term as they won the Coppa Italia at the beginning of lockdown. They have won just twice in their previous six games, while they have also drawn and lost twice in this space of time. Napoli come into this fixture having been beaten in their last Serie A game by Inter Milan. Lautaro Martinez and Danilo D’Ambrosio scored the goals for the hosts on that occasion.
Lazio have endured a terrible run against Napoli over recent seasons, as they have lost six of the past seven games. Their only win came earlier in the season as they won 1-0 in the previous league meeting between the sides.
Lazio have been excellent throughout the season, and but for a little wobble, they would have been closer to Juventus at the top of the league. They are the team in form going into this fixture, and they will end the campaign with another three points.
