They have moved up to third in the league standings, and could move up another place in the league table with a victory this weekend. There will still be a tense end to the season for the giants from Naples, as they are level on points with both Juventus and AC Milan. However, Napoli are the side that are in the best form, as they have won three of their last four, and have been beaten on just one occasion in their previous six. Napoli capitalised on drop points from their rivals last weekend, as their 2-0 win against Torino saw them leapfrog both Juventus and Milan. It was an efficient performance from Napoli on that occasion, as Tiemoue Bakayoko and Victor Osimhen scored the goals inside the opening 15 minutes.
Cagliari will not be able to rest themselves over the final month of the season, as they desperately need the points to secure their status in Serie A. They have been in excellent form of late though, and that means they will come into this fixture in good confidence. Cagliari have won their last three Serie A fixtures, but they are still level on points with Benevento. However, if they can maintain the performance levels they have shown over recent weeks, then it would be difficult to see them getting relegated this term.
Napoli have an excellent record against Cagliari. They have won nine of the previous ten league matches between the sides. Cagliari have scored just once against Napoli in the previous three meetings. The fixture between the sides earlier in the campaign saw Napoli run out comfortable 4-1 winners on the road.
The recent meetings between the sides will not give the travelling side much confidence coming into this fixture. Cagliari have been in outstanding form recently, but this will be a much stiffer assignment. We struggle to see anything other than a home win in this fixture.
