Group H qualification continues on Sunday, as the top seeds are on the road. Denmark will looking to showcase their dominance in their opening two matches in the group, which would give them an excellent chance of booking their progression through to the EUROs as early as possible.
Denmark will be looking to recover in their first matches in EURO qualification after severely disappointing at the World Cup at the end of last year. Many people expected the Danes to get through Group D with no issues, but they crashed out after failing to win in three, scoring just once in the process. However, there is little doubt that they remain a credible threat at EURO, as they have excellent quality across the field.
The Danes have been a standout side in each of the previous two qualifying periods in which they have competed, as they have lost just once in 18 matches. In the previous round of EURO qualification, they landed four wins from eight matches before being eliminated by England after extra time at the semi-final stage. However, they will need to blow the cobwebs away before this tricky game on the road.
Kazakhstan will be targeted a first appearance at the EUROs next year, as they have failed to qualify in each of their previous four attempts. However, their most recent effort to reach the major tournament was considerably their best, as they recorded three wins, which was the most that they have managed in any single qualification campaign since competing as an individual country.
They should also come into qualifying in good confidence, as they enjoyed an excellent run in the Nations League last year to gain promotion to Division B. Kazakhstan picked up four wins from the six matches that they played, and they suffered just a single defeat.
These two nations have clashed on four previous occasions, with Denmark landing victories on all previous meetings. The most recent of those came in June 2017. However, both teams have scored in three of the four meetings between the nations.
Kazakhstan certainly looks to be a nation on the rise in the world of football, but this will be a testing fixture for them on Sunday. We could see both teams finding the net, but we still find it hard to bet against Denmark picking up maximum points.
