On June 9, a meeting of the General Assembly of the Hockey Champions League was held in an online format. The leaders of the league decided to reduce the number of clubs from 32 to 24 from season 2023/2024. Due to coronavirus pandemic and the uncertainty surrounding professional sporting events throughout Europe, the Champions League board decided to postpone the start of the 2020/2021 season for one month until October 6.
