Empoli are sitting pretty in the middle of the standings at this stage of proceedings. Much of that is due to the recent strong form that they have shown in their last five games. During that run, they have won three times, and drawn on two occasions. A win on Wednesday night could see them go up to eighth in the standings.
The confidence should be high in the Empoli camp, but they were held in their most recent fixture in Serie A by Spezia. Empoli were able to get a point from the game courtesy of a late own goal with 20 minutes remaining.
AC Milan are unbeaten in two against Empoli. However, they have won just once in the last three fixtures, with that victory coming at the San Siro last season. Empoli’s last win came away from home in April 2017 against Milan.
Empoli will be a tough side to beat for Milan on Wednesday, as they have shown some great form over their last five fixtures. However, Milan need to bounce back following defeat last weekend, and we expect them to scrape a 1-0 win on the road this week.
