Atletico Madrid have been in excellent form since the restart, and they will be hoping to maintain their fine record when they take on Real Sociedad to bring the curtain down on their season in La Liga.
Atletico Madrid have already secured their place in the Champions League for next season as they have an unassailable lead over Villarreal. Real Sociedad will still have work to do to confirm their place in the Europa League next season as Athletic Bilbao are still within touching distance. Sociedad have been in shaky form over recent weeks as they have won just two of their previous six. This isn’t their ideal last game of the season, as they have typically struggled against the bigger teams in the league.
Sociedad have won just once in their previous three, with that success coming in their last game on the road as they beat Villarreal. On that occasion, Willian Jose and Diego Llorente scored the goals. However, this will be a different kind of test for them.
Real Sociedad actually have a fairly decent record against Atletico Madrid. However, both of their successes have come at home. Atletico have won the last six played at their home, with the most recent of those ending in a 2-0 win. Sociedad won the previous meeting between the sides 2-0.
Atletico Madrid should have far too much for Sociedad in this final game of the season. They will be looking to end the season with a win to ensure that they restart the Champions League in good form.
