Boruc started his senior career in 1998 with Pogoń Siedlce, who then played in the third division of Polish club football.
In 1999, he signed a contract with Legia Warsaw. In his six years with the club, he made a total of 69 appearances. In 2005, Lega Warsaw loaned Boruc to Celtic FC of the Scottish Premiership.
That same year, Celtic FC signed Boruc to a full contract. He played for Celtic from 2005 to 2010, making a total of 153 appearances.
In 2010, he was signed by ACF Fiorentina of the Italian Serie A. He played at the club until 2012, making 62 total appearances.
From 2012 to 2015, Boruc played for Southampton of the English Premier League. In 2014, Southhampton loaned him to AFC Bournemouth.
In 2015, Bournemouth signed Boruc to a full contract. He has been playing there ever since.
Between 2004 and 2017, Artur Boruc made a total of 65 appearances for the Polish national team.
