On a small number of high-profile transfers — usually when the real fee hasn't been confirmed, or a move is still a rumour — you'll see a badge like "AI est. €30–40M" instead of a fee, or alongside "Undisclosed".
Why a range, never a single number
A single number implies a precision we don't have. Our model's estimate reflects a spread of plausible outcomes based on public signals — reported valuations, comparable recent deals in the same position/age bracket, remaining contract length, and market chatter around the move. We show the range it actually produces rather than picking one point inside it and presenting that as fact.
What it is — and isn't
- It's our own estimate, clearly labelled as such, never presented as a reported or confirmed fee.
- It does not use any private or insider information — only the same public reporting anyone can read.
- It is not available for every transfer. Most transfer cards on this site carry no AI estimate at all, either because the real fee is already known, or because the player isn't in the limited pilot list we currently cover. That's the normal case, not a gap.
- It updates as a deal moves from rumour to confirmed to official — once a real, sourced fee is reported, that replaces the estimate.

If an estimate looks obviously off, or you'd like to see the methodology cover more players, let us know through the usual contact channels — this is an early, limited pilot and we're refining it.
