A massive match in the race for the Premier League title rounds off the action in the competition on Saturday. Arsenal will have increased pressure on their shoulders after suffering a first defeat in 2024 last time out. Wolves will also be looking to get their form back on track.
The pressure will be back on Arsenal in the race for the Premier League title this weekend after failing to move back to the summit in their previous outing. The Gunners were very disappointing in that recent home match against Aston Villa, with the 2-0 defeat being their first loss in this calendar year. That loss means that the advantage in the race for the title is now with Man City.
Arsenal have now dropped points in two of their last four matches in the competition, with their defeat last weekend being their fifth of the campaign. The Gunners were extremely underwhelming in the final third of that fixture, as they have now failed to score in two of their last four matches after going goalless just three times in their opening 28 matches.
Wolves will have the home field advantage this weekend, as they bid to get their campaign back on track. The Midlands side will still have hopes of breaking into the European positions, but they have dropped into the bottom half of the standings after going four without a victory.
However, they have still been challenging to beat in recent weeks after being held to draws in two of their last three matches. Their most recent draw came against Nottingham Forest after playing out a 2-2 tie. But, their four-game winless run in their longest sequence without a victory since November 2022.
Arsenal have a very strong recent record against Wolves after winning each of their last five against their rivals in the Premier League. In fact, the Gunners have kept clean sheets in two of their last three wins. Wolves are without a success against Arsenal since landing a 2-1 home victory in February 2021.
Arsenal have bossed their previous encounters against Wolves in the league, and that should give them a great chance of bouncing back to form this weekend. However, there could be a good chance that a draw may be a valuable selection on Saturday.
