Roma extended their unbeaten run in Serie A to 17 matches since they salvaged a point against Lazio. In a fierce derby clash, they were trailing in the second half, but Matias Soule’s strike ensured a draw.
The hosts are now seventh with 54 points, and while the goal of reaching the CL zone looks unlikely, they have ambitions to reach the Europa League. Only Lazio and Bologna stand in the way of Claudio Ranieri’s men.
Roma have zero fitness concerns ahead of Saturday’s game. Saud Abdulhamid is out but has only featured four times in Serie A.
Roma predicted lineup vs Verona (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Ndicka, Mancini, Celik; Angelino, Paredes, Kone, Saelemaekers; Pellegrini, Soule; Dovbyk.
Verona have now drawn three Serie A games in a row. In the last round, they parted ways with Genoa in a goalless tie. The performances from both clubs were disappointing, producing only three shots on target.
Now the visitors can feel safe, as they are eight points clear of the relegation zone. There are still slim chances they could end up in danger, but given the history of previous tournaments, Verona are not threatened with leaving the Italian top flight.
Hellas have several absentees in the squad. Abdou Harroui, Cheikh Niasse, Tomas Suslov, and their leading goalscorer, Casper Tengstedt, will miss the encounter.
Verona predicted lineup vs Roma (3-5-2): Montipo; Ghilardi, Coppola, Valentini; Tchatchoua, Duda, Dawidowicz, Bernede, Bradaric; Sarr, Mosquera.
Bet hereRoma’s superb run in Serie A deserves nothing but praise. Following Ranieri’s appointment, they’ve received a second breath and are performing at the top level in every match they play.
Verona, on the other hand, failed to show any signs of improvement and will struggle this weekend. Moreover, if we pick the last 15 H2H encounters at Stadio Olimpico, Ranieri’s men have won 13 of them.
The home side will be motivated to grab a convincing victory after a hard-earned draw with Lazio. They’ll likely focus on getting a comfortable advantage, and our first pick in this clash would be Roma to win with a (-1.5) handicap.
Verona have been the worst team in Serie A with the number of goals conceded (59). They’ve also struggled in the attack and have 30 goals to their account. Roma have shifted towards aggressive play in the offence, and we think it will be a high-scoring affair.
Moreover, if we take a look at the last 11 matches, 10 ended with at least three goals scored. Hellas no longer have to worry about their safety, so it should be an attacking display from both clubs.
Paulo Dybala has returned from an injury, and we anticipate the Argentine delivering his magic on the field. Our second pick here would be over 2.5 goals.
