Real Madrid have already started their activity on the transfer market, announcing the transfer of Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen. The move is welcomed as a necessary signing. 

Key injuries in the defensive positions have led to emergency experiments such as Tchouaméni occupying the centre-back position. Huijsen is half Spanish and half Dutch but chose to represent the Spanish national team. He has already made his debut under Luis de la Fuente and performed well.

One of the major issues that plagued Real Madrid had been the lack of a calm leader at the back, capable of building up play from the first line. In addition to Huijsen’s signing, Real Madrid confirmed that Carreras would be added to the squad for the left-back position.

After the game, Alguacil remarked that he wished Real Sociedad would be more similar to Athletic Club in reference to their Basque-only policy. 

Real Sociedad will miss out on European football, currently sitting in 11th place, although a victory could see them overtake Mallorca. According to Spanish news outlet Relevo, the club has already started to look for signings on the transfer market for three key positions: a centre-back, a pivot, and a winger. However, no names have been disclosed yet.
