Real’s defeat also means the team will remain trophyless. They find themselves seven points behind Barcelona with only three games left until the end of the season.

Victor Muñoz, a Madrid academy graduate, featured in the Clásico ahead of Rodrygo, which could mean the end of the Brazilian’s journey at the club. Rumours claimed the Brazilian was unhappy, and his being benched will probably be the last straw.

Jude Bellingham suffered an injury and will have to undergo surgery. It’s unknown whether this will be before or after the Club World Cup. 

Antonio Rüdiger, Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Éder Militao, Eduardo Camavinga, and Ferland Mendy are out with injuries. Aurélien Tchouaméni is suspended for the game.

The three previous games were unsuccessful for Mallorca, which is why it was essential to defeat Valladolid, the weakest team in the league.

Mallorca suffered a 1-0 defeat against Girona last week, after Stuani delivered the winner when least expected.

Abdon Prats and Manu Morlanes will be sidelined due to injuries, while Robert Navarro is awaiting medical clearance.
