Real Madrid could capture the La Liga title this weekend if they claim victory and other results go in their favour. Los Blancos could put one hand on the title if they are able to claim a home victory against Cadiz on Saturday.
It has been a very professional campaign for Real Madrid, and they look set to end the season with the La Liga title. They come into this round of matches with an eleven-point advantage over Barcelona, after winning 26 of their 33 matches in the competition this term. Their professionalism is evident based on the fact that they have lost just once all season.
They appear to be hitting form once again at this stage after claiming victories in each of their last five matches. But, it could be worth noting that Carlo Ancelotti may rest a number of stars in this league match with the upcoming second leg of their Champions League tie against Bayern Munich on the horizon. Madrid continued their excellent league record with a scrappy 1-0 away win against Real Sociedad last Friday.
There will also be huge pressure on Cadiz this weekend, as the Spanish side remain threatened with the risk of relegation at this stage. They come into this round of matches sitting five points from safety, and they have recorded just four victories from their 33 league outings this term.
Cadiz also arrive to the Spanish capital in poor recent form after winning just once across their last five. Meanwhile, they have failed to win in each of their last three matches in the competition. But, they did play out a draw against Mallorca in their previous outing.
Real have picked up victories in each of their last three league matches against Cadiz, keeping clean sheets in each of the previous two. Cadiz’s only success in their last seven against their rivals was achieved on the road in October 2010.
It looks incredibly challenging to overlook the prospect of a home victory this weekend. Real have been in dominant recent form in the league, and they have also bossed previous encounters against Cadiz in the Spanish top-flight.
