PSV will host Sevilla at the Philips Stadion on Tuesday for the UEFA Champions League Group B action, with kickoff slated for 19:00 GMT.
PSV’s 0-4 hammering away to Arsenal was a sobering moment for Peter Bosz and his men. They will need to up their level in time to face Sevilla if they can get something from the match on Tuesday.
Peter Bosz will hope that their seven-match winning start to the Eredivisie can be translated to their Tuesday clash as they look to reboot their Group B campaign.
Sevilla warmed up for the trip to PSV with a 1-0 defeat at home to La Liga champions Barcelona. This was Sevilla’s fifth defeat of the season in a poor start to the opening seven La Liga matches, in which they have won just twice.
Sevilla will look to turn their form again and bounce back to winning ways after their three-match unbeaten run (two wins and a draw) ended in the defeat against Barcelona.
Peter Bosz will be without lefty-back Mauro Junior. The 24-year-old fullback has been out with a knee injury since May 1st, 2023, thus missing 28 matches for PSV.
Center-back Armando Obispo is sidelined with a knee injury. The 24-year-old has been out injured since March 20th, 2023. He has missed the last 24 outings for PSV.
Apart from these long-term absentees, PSV and Peter Bosz will have the full complement of the squad available for selection ahead of the visit of La Liga’s Sevilla on Tuesday.
Bet hereJosé Luis Mendilibar has had injury disruptions this season that have hampered Sevilla’s consistency and performance levels at the start of their La Liga season.
Center-back Tanguy Nianzou has been out with a hamstring injury since August 5, 2023. The 21-year-old has missed the last nine matches for Sevilla, highlighting why the backline of José Luis Mendilibar’s side has missed his services.
Center-back Marcao has also been sidelined with a muscle fiver tear since July 17, 2023. The defender has missed 9 matches, just like Nianzou.
José Luis Mendilibar will also be without the services of center-forward Youssef En-Nesyri, who suffered an ankle injury on September 27, 2023. So far, he has missed one match for José Luis Mendilibar’s side and is unlikely to be available for the trip to PSV on Tuesday.

After a defeat away to Arsenal on matchday one, PSV will look to bounce back to winning ways in the Champions League. They will look to play on the front foot, dominate the ball, pass progressively, and create good goalscoring opportunities.
This approach will have to be countered by well-coordinated pressing and counter-pressing to minimize the risk to Sevilla’s counter-attacking and transition play when they will be vulnerable.
Sevilla will look to get a win after Ligue 1’s Lens held them in matchday one. They will be compact and solid in their approach and attack on the counter.
This will allow them to minimize concession of chances while optimizing the quality of goalscoring chances they create in the final third.
PSV will win the home match and get their first points in Group B.
