After the 1-1 draw with cross-town rivals Inter Milan in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals, AC Milan will host Fiorentina in the Serie A.
Currently, Milan are going through a poor run of form, having lost three of their last five Serie A matches, and will be keen on improving their showing as much as possible. Milan have a lot of bases to cover both in attack and defence.
In the final third, Milan have been far from their best as they have scored just 8 goals in their last 5 matches, averaging not even two goals per match.
Inside their own half, Milan’s tale of worries has reached a crescendo as they have not kept a clean sheet in 7 matches.
They will be further worried by the fact that Alex Jimenez has been suspended for this game and Emerson Royal and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have been ruled out with injuries.
Milan predicted lineup vs Fiorentina (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Walker, Pavlovic, Gabbia, Hernandez; Fofana, Musah; Pulisic, Reijnders, Leão; Abraham.
Fiorentina, quite strangely, are ranked above Milan in the group table currently. They are ranked eighth while Milan are ninth.
For this game, the visitors will have to make do without the services of Andrea Colpani, Edoardo Bove and Robin Gosens, who have been ruled out with a foot injury, heart problems and knee injury respectively.
Fiorentina have scored 10 goals in their last 5 matches, which means that they have been in excellent form in the final third, averaging two goals per match.
They have done better than Milan in this aspect and deserve the glory that is coming their way – Fiorentina have won their last three matches in a row currently.
Quite interestingly, they have also been awarded the most penalties this season (8), which goes to show how impressive they have in winning balls inside their opponents’ box all season and how clinical they have been in general.
Fiorentina predicted lineup vs Milan (3-5-2): De Gea; Pongracic, Mari, Ranieri; Dodo, Mandragora, Cataldi, Fagioli, Gosens; Gudmundsson, Kean.
Bet hereMilan are the favourites to win this game despite their struggles this season, and we expect them to either do so or end it as a drawn encounter.
It looks highly unlikely that they will end up being beaten at home by Fiorentina.
There have been a total of 29 games recorded between these teams in the past, out of which Milan have won or drawn 19.
At home, Milan have won eight and drawn one out of the 14 games played between these two teams.
We expect both these teams to get on the scoresheet since they are blessed with a host of attacking options, all of whom can be expected to make a difference.
While Fiorentina are flying high based on their form, Milan have history on their side. The difference between these two teams is not much, and it remains to be seen who manages to cop the other out at the end.
Pulisic will be the man to watch out for in Milan colour, whereas for the visiting side, Kean will be the player who can wreak havoc with his very presence in the starting lineup.
