In-form Monaco will travel to the Parc Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday for a one-on-one clash against the Hosts Lyon in Ligue 1, with kickoff scheduled for 17:00 GMT.
After a four-match unbeaten run comprising three wins and a draw, Lyon fell to defeat last weekend when they traveled to PSG, losing 4-1. They remain 9th on the Ligue 1 table with 41 points, 17 points behind their second-placed opponents on Sunday, Monaco.
Lyon have left it too late for their upturn in form this season. Most of the damage was done in a hapless first half of the season, leaving them reeling in the bottom half.
However, they steadied their form in the second half and climbed into the top half of the table. They will look to retain these gains when they host the in-form and second-placed Monaco, chasing a Champions League spot.
Monaco have won four consecutive matches in Ligue 1 as they have stepped up their fight for a direct qualification into next season’s Champions League as the runners-up in Ligue 1 behind expected champions PSG.
Monaco have underlined their credentials by keeping clean sheets in their last three matches against Rennes (1-0), Brest (0-2), and Wednesday’s win against LOSC (1-0).
Monaco’s top form has seen them open a five-point gap to third-placed Brest in the chase for second spot and a direct ticket to the Champions League next season.
With four matches remaining, Monaco will focus on retaining their advantage by beating Lyon away from home on Sunday.
