Despite his absence being felt against Udinese, David Frattesi filled in for his role and the Italian midfielder is expected to start against Crvena Zvezda on Tuesday.
The greatness of Inzaghi lies in the fact that his system works despite switching players, which means that it’s unlikely to see major changes on Tuesday.
The strength of Inzaghi’s system is that the team can storm Crvena Zvezda in both wings. Di Marco already scored this weekend against Udinese, showcasing his talent going forward. But the team’s striker-pairing, composed of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram is another major anchor of the team’s attacking dynamics.
Considering that Zvezda haven’t been able to maintain a defensively sound system, this will likely become a problem for the visitors during the match.
Furthermore, the midfield battle will be the most important. Frattesi has been mentioned earlier, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan is another midfielder who provides the needed stability for Frattesi to advance higher up the pitch.
Crvena Zvezda must also watch out for Matteo Darmian, who could storm the flanks from the right wing. Inter Milan’s unique way of playing allows every player to be involved, as the system is versatile enough.
Tracking the marker or the zone will be key for Crvena Zvezda if they want to avoid getting scored on quickly. Inter Milan often tends to open the score in the first half (Frattesi scored in the first minute against Udinese), meaning the Serbian visitors must be alert at all times.
