Germany have won their last five matches in a row, which includes being unbeaten in all their group stage encounters.

Coach Di Salvo has insisted upon a 4-2-3-1 formation which utilises spaces well in the final third, and the same will be on display in this game. 

Germany do not have any serious injuries in their squad ahead of this encounter. Only striker Nelson Weiper was taken off in the 85th minute of their game against England due to an injury.

Italy have had very few concerns in defence, but have faltered big-time in the attacking third. In the game against Spain, their attackers had numerous chances that they could not convert into goals. This indecisive nature in the final third could hurt Italy if they do not improve soon.

This weakness in the final third will be latched onto by the Germans in this encounter, and coach Carmine Nunziata will have to find a way to get better; perhaps playing long balls and crosses from their own half into the opposition’s box may help.
