Fenerbahçe barely managed to qualify for the playoffs, as they finished the group stage in the 24th place. The final match against Midtjylland was dramatic and Jose Mourinho’s side sealed a 2-2 draw against the Danish side.
Fenerbahçe are also fighting on the domestic front, currently only three points behind league leaders Galatasaray. Interestingly, they are on a 12-match unbeaten run and in the last ten home games, have won eight.
Despite adding several players in the winter transfer window, most of them are not eligible to play. Diego Carlos, Ognjen Mimović, Oğuz Aydın are inactive. Dominik Livaković, Mert Müldür, Rodrigo Becão and Jayden Oosterwolde are injured.
Fenerbahçe predicted lineup vs Anderlecht (3-4-1-2): Eğribayat; Söyüncü, Škriniar, Djiku; Kostić, Szymański, Fred, Yüksek; Tadić; Džeko, Talisca.
Unlike Fenerbahçe, Anderlecht are far from triumphing in the Jupiler League, as they are 15 points behind Genk. However, in the Europa League, they managed to enter the top 10 of the Europa League group stage.
Anderlecht has a rich history of participating in European competitions and won the UEFA Cup in the 1982/83 season. It will be their fifth trip to Fenerbahçe, but they have been unable to beat their opponents so far, losing three and drawing one.
Ahead of the clash, Anderlecht will be present with an almost optimal squad. Samuel Edozie suffered a muscle injury and is sidelined and legendary Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen also sits out due to ankle problems. Majeed Ashimeru is questionable. The Ghanaian has not played since November 3, 2024.
Anderlecht predicted lineup vs Fenerbahçe (4-3-3): Coosemans; Sardella, Simić, Adryelson, Augustinsson; Verschaeren, Dendoncker, Stroeykens; Hazard, Dolberg, Vazquez.
Bet hereFenerbahçe might have finished 24th in the group stage, but as they are now in the playoffs, the Turkish side will approach this stage differently. Despite the absence of several key players, they still have plenty of high-quality performers who can seal the victory for the hosts.
As mentioned above, Anderlecht have not won in the previous four H2H games. Moreover, they struggle on the road, losing two and drawing one in the previous three fixtures.
As for Fenerbahçe, they are a solid team at home and we think Jose Mourinho’s team will be able to grab a victory at Şükrü Saracoğlu. Our first pick in this clash would be Fenerbahçe to win.
Usually, Fenerbahçe are productive at home and they focus on the offence from the first minute. Anderlecht, on the other hand, will build their game on counterattacks and exploit opponents’ defensive weaknesses.
The visitors should expect the threat from Youssef En-Nesyri. The Moroccan has scored four UEL goals. For Anderlecht, Kasper Dolberg will be in the spotlight as he has 14 goals in the Belgian Jupiler League already.
If we take stats from Fenerbahçe’s last six home games, five ended with at least three goals scored. We think that this will be a high-scoring affair, with Anderlecht also getting their chances. Our second pick in the clash is over 2.5 goals.
